When choosing the best films, it is most natural to turn to reviews of both professional film critics and a wide audience. This is what we did when compiling the current rating of the best films of 2013. Our ten list includes films that received high marks from critics and viewers on the Kinopoisk and Megacritic portals.
The rating contains films belonging to various genres, but more than half were shot on various literary works.

10. Captives
A crime drama with Hugh Jackman and Jake Gyllenhaal starring the abduction of two little girls. The father of one of the babies undertakes an independent investigation, since the police are inactive.

Gradually, the characters fall in love with each other, but what happens when the rainy season ends, no one knows ...
8. Before midnight
The film is the best of the trilogy, which includes the paintings "Before Dawn" and "Before Sunset." The melodrama is dedicated to the love of a man and a woman who have been together for many years. “Autumn” reigns in a relationship, and overcoming it forms the basis of the plot.
7. Dirt
The British comedy drama was released in September 2013. The main character is a corrupt police officer Bruce Robertson, who is addicted to drugs and sex. The addictions greatly prevent Robertson from standing guard over the law.
6. A boyfriend from the future
Fantastic comedy by British director Richard Curtis makes you believe in time travel. A handsome and talented lawyer goes to the past to charm the girl of his dreams. Unfortunately, the first date has to be repeated many times before the beauty’s heart trembles.
5. Metallica: Through the impossible
The adventure musical is a hybrid of concert and feature film. The picture was not just the best biography of the famous group. In the center of the story is the story of a member of the group’s technical team, who is supposed to deliver a bag with mysterious contents to the performance.
4. The Hunger Games: Catching Fire
The continuation of the story of Katness Everdeen, who won the Hunger Games, beats all film distribution ratings. However, it again enters the Arena, where opponents are even more dangerous, and the stakes are incredibly high. The film is based on the book Susan Collins, “And the Flames Cry.”
3. The Great Gatsby
Dropped to third place in the ranking, the film with Leonardo DiCaprio in the title role. The action takes place in 1922 on the "golden" coast of Long Island among the luxurious villas of the American rich. The picture is a film adaptation of the novel of the same name by F.S. Fitzgerald. The plot tells the viewer the story of a bygone era, impossible love and human tragedy.
2. Gravity
A fantastic thriller about the space travel of Dr. Ryan Stone, a brilliant specialist in medical engineering. During the crash, the shuttle dies and Stone remains in the company of astronaut Matt Kowalski. Together they have to fight for life.
1. Race
Headed the rating of 2013, the film “Race”. The 1970s became the golden age for Formula 1 racing. The plot focuses on the rivalry of two irreconcilable racers: Englishman James Hunt and Australian Nicky Laud. One of them is a handsome lovelace, the second is a serious perfectionist. But both are equally stubborn in the pursuit of victory.

Life of PiThe film, based on the novel by Yann Martel, became a New Year's gift for the Russians - its premiere took place on January 1, 2013.
